Linguistic Miracle of The Qur’an: Part 2 |Feeding Children in Poverty!!

So in this article, I will try and explain to you one example of linguistic excellence in The Qur’an by comparing only 2 verses from The Qur’an.

6:151 says, “and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them.”

whereas

17:31 says, “And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin.

Notice that in 6:151 when The Qur’an says that don’t kill your children in poverty, it mentions providing for “parents” first and then the “children”. However, when The Qur’an mentions in 17:31 about not killing children for “fear” of poverty, it mentions the “children” first and then the “parents”. Its amazing that The Qur’an takes care of both the context and human psychology. Because when one is already in poverty, he is looking for food himself and thus the parents are mentioned first. And the fear of poverty brings to mind the feeding of children and thus the children are mentioned first. Amazing, both contextually and psychologically. Notice that The Qur’an could have said, “We provide for you and them.” or “We provide for them and you” in either order for both verses but such a minute detail was also carefully stated!!!

THUS, it’s amazing that The Qur’an has such an intricate usage of word orders and pays so much attention to detail. In our daily lives, we may not care how we speak: “them and you” or “you and them”. But The Qur’an even took care of this order. The Qur’an was revealed over about a period of 23 years and never changed across 14 centuries and yet contains such a consistent and detailed order of words. And in addition to that it contains other linguistic, scientific, numerical miracles etc. and this depth of linguistic excellence as well!!
